Schoolshape training sessions demonstrate how to use the latest online technology to
(a) increase motivation, thereby improving learning
(b) speed up lesson preparation
(c) automate repetitive marking and assessment
(d) reduce departmental administration
(e) facilitate teacher collaboration
We show teachers how their students can make use of the latest mobile devices (ie. laptops, netbooks, etc.) to achieve the following outcomes:
- Greatly reduced marking time using automatic grading
- Quick location of useful resources on the Internet
- Easy adaptation of resources into structured exercises
- Use of Youtube and other multimedia sites within a structured, assessed framework
- Conversion of existing teaching resources into an interactive, online format
- Improvement of speaking/ listening skills using the Schoolshape Language Lab (MFL specific)
The sessions take place in the ICT suite, and teachers therefore have a 'hands-on' guidance on how to choose, create, adapt and set several auto-marked online tasks, including multiple speaking opportunities, for
