Entering new student names into a group

When differentiating work for students, it is really useful to be able to change the structure of individual groups, eg when a new student arrives in a class, or when a student is more (or less) advanced than his/her peers in a particular year group. This helps to ensure that every student receives the right level of language practice, irrespective of their expected attainment according to the school rostas!

If your aim as a foreign language teacher is to get your students speaking a foreign language, there is only one way to do it. Give them some words to say and get them saying them as often as possible.

Just writing it isn’t enough, and frankly not that much fun anyway.

Whether setting up groups at the beginning of the academic year or creating new groups when differentiating student tasks, it is useful to be able to copy students from a list already on your computer, and thus create login accounts for them. This video shows how to organise this in the Schoolshape Language Lab.

Language teachers assigning and assessing work for students of different abilities is a complex task, let alone the complication of pairing students for collaboration in class and abroad. Schoolshape handles this neatly on one screen.
