International Dialogue

Sometimes we see international leaders making the effort to show the world that they are trying to collaborate. However, would it not be more convincing if they genuinely speak each other's language as the great man himself Nelson Mandela said, "If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart."

In a school or college there is time for educators to teach the mechanics of a language in class. However, competence in a language is about the ability to communicate in that language with a reasonable amount of fluency and spontaneity.
To achieve this the student needs practice in speaking and writing every day. It’s not rocket science. It's all about practice practice practice. If this is not regular, then fluency and mastery of the language will be deficient.
